As president of Graduate and Professional Scholars (GAPS), it is truly an honor to announce the creation of the Mary Frances Early Graduate Student Support Fund. Throughout our 36 year history, we have provided financial support for historically underrepresented graduate and professional students on UGA's campus. In 2000, we renamed our annual Spring lecture in honor of Ms. Mary Frances Early and soon after began giving out the annual scholarship in her name as well.
As we look towards the future of our organization, we want to ensure that this scholarship has a permanent place not only in our organizational legacy, but in UGA's legacy. In order to endow this fund, we need to raise $25,000 and we can achieve this goal with your help.GAPS members are scholars in a variety of fields and contribute to the research and progress of the university, state and nation. This support fund will enable us to continue to provide students with assistance in their academic pursuits as they complete their degree.
Here is a link to share with friends, family and colleagues about the fund and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. https://gail.uga.edu/give?id=1c6a6878-c5d6-43d9-827b-8e8e0212c715 Stay tuned as we share information about events, Ms. Early's thoughts about the scholarship and updates as we reach our goal!
